This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of Pulp and Wastepaper Types, Processes, and Evaluation.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of raw materials in the paper industry, process and recycling, and evaluation of pulp and wastepaper.
Course Content
1.Raw Materials of the Paper Industry:
- A brief overview of the paper-making process and Types of Pulp: (Sources of fibers, Types of pulping processes ).
- explanation of each pulping process, including chemicals and equipment and Factors affecting pulp quality (fiber length, strength, color)
- Wastepaper:
- Classification of wastepaper grades, Sources of wastepaper, Challenges and opportunities in utilizing wastepaper.
- Evaluation of Pulp and Wastepaper:
- Overview of Quality Parameters) as Fiber properties and Chemical
- Laboratory Testing: Interpretation of test results and their implications for papermaking
- Identifying contaminants and defects in pulp and wastepaper
- And assessing the suitability of materials for different paper grades
- Wastepaper Recycling Process:
- Discus Collection of wastepaper, Pulping, and de-inking processes, Refining and bleaching of recycled pulp, and Papermaking from recycled pulp.
